Raymond Ofula has been enjoying a successful year in social justice themed TV, stage and film including Betrayal in the City and Prayer for the Departed, in which he plays a pivotal role.
Based on real- life events, Prayer for the Departed follows the journey of a young Kenyan girl named Charity, who is forced to make difficult decisions that no teenager should ever have to face. Through Charity's story, viewers gain insight into the various challenges and obstacles that many Kenyan girls and women encounter in their pursuit of love, care, and justice.
The film is a poignant exploration of love, loss, and hope amidst despair, delving into the intricacies of sexuality and reproductive justice. It sheds light on the societal pressures that girls face when they speak up for themselves, and encourages viewers to contemplate these issues. Prayer for the Departed Is a sobering and thought-provoking film that everyone should see.
It debuts this Saturday 25th March at Prestige Cinema. Tickets available on KenyaBuzz
