Singer and rapper Vallerie Muthoni launched her five track EP, titled The Wavey Soul,  last week. The EP is on sale on locally on mookh , for listening and/or buying on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon music and Napster.
Waves Never Die is the first track on the album. The song is bold, expressive of place in the universe- that she is formidable and will not go unnoticed. It transitions to Me, You and the Sea, where she brings out her softer side, assuring her lover of her presence through all the storms they will weather in their relationship. In Brown Suga, she flexes on her competition before she transitions to Lover's Game where she features Harawa. In the track, she taunts an ex, reminding him that she is the best he ever had and it is unlikely that he will find another. The last song is End Rape Culture, a somber track in which she narrates an unfortunate incident of a woman who is sexually assaulted by a guy she meets at the club.
Vallerie describes the EP as a body of work that explores themes of love, self-exploration, mental health and the realities of a young female millenial.
