Wouldn’t it be grand if you had a million dollars? It’s possible!  A 3 minute short film can bag you Ksh 100,000,000+ if you participate in My RØDE Reel 2020 Short Film Competition.

Man, a million dollars could come in handy for anyone right now.

So, what’s this all about?

Australian microphone designing and manufacturing company Rde Microphones launched a competition dubbed the “world’s largest short film competition”. This film contest hopes to empower and kick start the winners’ filmmaking journey through the monumental USD 1 million cash prize that is up for grabs. 

According to the organizers, winners will also receive loads of amazing film-making tools and gear in addition to the cash prize. The competition has 3 major categories:

Judges Prize – Winners for this category will be selected by the judges.

Genre Prize – The film genres up for contest in this category are Drama, Comedy, Documentary, Animation and Behind The Scenes.

Special Prizes – This will comprise of People’s Choice, Young Filmmaker (entrants must be aged between 13-20 years old), Sound Design and Best Chinese Film.

To participate, one must submit a short film that is longer than 60 seconds and not exceeding 3 minutes and also, the behind the scenes film that is of the same duration limits by clicking here. One can submit multiple entries as long as the film has never been submitted before and meets the competition’s requirements.
