My Favorite Fabric takes us back to Damascus, Syria in mid 2011. The Arab Spring was happening. The war in Syria was just beginning. And a mother of three daughters, Salwa, has to find a way for her and her young adults to leave Syria.
She arranges for Nahla, her eldest to get married to a Syrian expat living in the U.S. who is to arrange for Green Cards for the rest of the family. Nahla isn't too excited about this but she has to do what she has to do for the family's sake.
Things take a turn when Nahla's suitor takes a liking for her younger sister instead and Nahla goes on a journey of self-love and self-discovery in a garment shop owned by a mysterious woman named Jiji. My Favorite Fabric highlights human emotions in the midst of a brutal war. Tickets on KenyaBuzz.
