The story of the Kenyan Charles Muli is one that's both inspiring and that challenges us to be a little introspective. The movie, Mully, is based on the true story about the man who was abandoned by his family at age 6. He then moved from begging in the streets to holding corporate meetings in boardrooms. But his decision to leave all that and devote his life to taking care of orphans is one that Kenyans and the world will never forget.
Muli decided to turn his residential home into a shelter for orphaned kids. His dedication eventually led him to build an orphanage that catered to the kids. The farm in that orphanage is now used to grow environmentally friendly food.
The film is directed by Scott Haze and it focuses on interviews with Charles and his family. The one hour film which has won the Man In The Mirror Award and has screened internationally already will be shown in Kenya.
The University of Nairobi auditorium will host the screening of this movie today January 26th from 5-9pm.
The reactions on Twitter are also positive, with Kenyans seemingly quite eager to watch the story of the man who has been helping Kenyan kids for the last 29 years.
