Telenovela stars, Marjorie de Sousa and Carlos Ponce will be headlining Lifetime's first-ever original production for Latin America. The tandem will star in Lifetime's new series, Amores Que Enganan (Love that deceives), co-produced by VIP 2000, Casablanca and Yahayra Films.
Lifetime is known for telling the stories about women and how they deal with their daily situations and struggles. Amores que enganan will be a ten-episode series that brings together a set of independent stories, featuring women in real life situation such as love, illusion and trust. The main story will revolve around Jorge (Carlos Ponce) and Elisa (Marjorie de souse), a couple who long to have a child but their efforts are in vain. Desperate, they decide to seek the help of a surrogate and Elisa's cousin, Belgium, is the ideal candidate. Belgium agrees to help but it soon dawns on them that her intentions are not genuine as she seeks to take Elisa's place in Jorge's life.
"Belonging to such a production that is mostly represented by women is a beautiful experience. Respecting each other, seeing what each one is capable of achieving is motivating and inspiring. It was a nice challenge to interpret life stories that women go through…," said Marjorie De Sousa about her participation in the series.
Amores Que Enganan will also see the participation of Jorge Salinas, Aylin Mujica, and Gretel Valdez. The show is set to premier on May 14.
