'Tis the season of clapbacks and breaking the Internet thanks to former South African president Jacob Zuma. So, what happened? He opened a Twitter account on Friday for the very first time and his tweets are everything you want to see; spicy, no chills and funny.
His first tweet was a recorded video of the prominent Zuma talking about his entry in the social media circles saying, "Hello everyone. I have decided to move with the times to join this important area of conversation because I hear that many people are talking about me and others are calling themselves Zuma in many ways. I felt it necessary that I must join in and be part of the conversation and join the people in their discussion. It's me, former president Jacob Zuma."
South African Twitter got super excited with many welcoming him with the words,'Welcome uBaba.' What makes his account interesting is that he's not a bore. Really. He responded to an alleged 'fake' article about him, responded to a tweep who said he was his son and he has clarified that yes, it is the real him. That account isn't a parody. Politics aside, this is a good PR move.
Let's skip the talk. Here are some of his tweets together with what South Africans thought.
