Montero Hill, popularly known as Lil Nas X has in the past fortnight sparked major controversy in the music entertainment business thanks to his now viral 'country rap' hit, 'Old Town Road'.Nas X, an Atlanta-based hip-hop artist uploaded the song on his Sound cloud which saw the track quickly rise in three Billboard charts namely, the Hot 100, Hot RnB/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot country songs.The chart-topping track, however, was removed from country charts by Billboard after country music producers and entertainers in a statement said, While 'Old Town Road' incorporates references to country and cowboy imagery, it does not embrace enough elements of today's country music to chart in its current version."Over the weekend however, country legend, Billy Ray Cyrus showed support for the Nas X after the song's removal from chart, 'Been watching everything going on with OTR. When I got thrown off the charts, Waylon Jennings said to me 'Take this as a compliment' means you're doing something great! Only outlaws are outlawed. Welcome to the club!' Cyrus tweeted.Shortly after, images surfaced online of both Lil Nas X and Billy Ray in studio working on the remix to 'Old Town Road' to seemingly make it 'country enough'.'Old Town Road' the remix is currently the #1 song on US Spotify with over three million streams and has earned him his first pop radio's top 40, at #28.The remix to the song has also been projected to reach #1 on the hot 100, which would make it both his and Billy Ray's first #1.
