There is a new spot in town and we are emocionado about it. Yes we are excited. The new Spanish restaurant at Spring Valley Business Park, block A rooftop  La Rioja brings food and wine from Spain to Kenya. This joint brings the Spanish feel to the Kenyan market and without a doubt they are making waves.
Chef Patricio and his partner Juan have managed to make the tavern as traditional as possible. With a great view and soothing world music, this is a place you would want to take a business meeting and sign that deal or go out for a quiet grub with a friend.
The decor is a fuse of African and Spanish. The arrangement and interior design is spot on afro-futuristic with wine casks placed as tables all around. The ambience at the balcony area is breathtaking and at night they light oil lamps that make those candle light dinners feel oh so romantic.
The food is simply well prepared and comes in hot and steamy. The patatas Bravas were my favorite with Tosta de pollo escalibada y grantinado de queso which is well marinated beef. The wine selection all imported from Spain comes with great taste. On a night when you feel like partying it up they have a porron jug which you use to take beer or wine, this is a Spanish version of chug it.
Simply put the La Rioja is this year's biggest come-up. So put on that sombrero and lets go enjoy some Spanish cuisines.
