Kultur genießen! Virtual German Cultural Experiences
Cultural centre Goethe Institut knows we can’t travel to Germany amid the pandemic so they’re doing us a solid by offering free, virtual, German cultural experiences on their site. Wunderbar!
Whether you prefer art exhibitions, cinemas, museums or festivals – their virtual cultural experience aptly dubbed Kulturama programme has something for everyone. Check out what they have to offer this week:
KinderBooks is offering daily live readings of picture books in German during the quarantine. Every day, Monday through Friday, Beatrice Beckmann will read a classic or new, funny or smart book for the kids. Join on Zoom.
Get ready to groove with Goethe institut this Friday at the #NairobiJamConcert locked in edition with Chris Adwar. Streaming LIVE on Facebook and YouTube, the party picks up from 8pm followed by a one on one interview with the artist.
“Abandoned” is a video performance of a Serbian artist Sanja Latinović. The performance is the result of a masterclass with Marina Abramović. | Goethe-Institut Belgrad shows the video performance as a part of the first virtual exhibition in the gallery “Menjačnica” (“Exchange Office”).
Helgard Haug (Rimini Protokoll) shows an approach to Tourette that is characterized by humor and respect alike, thereby questioning beloved security of the theater, such as control, precision and repeatability. It’s a production by Künstlerhaus Mousonturm (Frankfurt), Schauspiel Frankfurt and Rimini.
The performance is a story of two characters. Perhaps a million stories, a million characters. About friendship, suffering and joy. The games that can bring unexpected results and surprises. About inevitable setbacks. A search for freedom that is not self-evident.
The orchestra will be streaming one of its most dazzling productions titled “From Gounaris to Sinatra”. A special live musical documentary about world art song which will include narration and slide projections. Unforgettable melodies from the 20th century (1900-1970)
