Korean film Festival 2019

The Korean Embassy in Kenya   is set to present their annual Korean Film Festival from the 25th to 26th of September 2019 at Taifa Hall, University of Nairobi.

Korean Cinema has seen a spectacular boom in recent years. The Festival will open with the film ‘Assasination’.

The espionage action film co-written and directed by Choi Dong-hoon is currently the eighth-highest-grossing movie in Korean film history.

The second film to be showcased on day one is ‘Little Forest‘ 2018 South Korean drama film directed by Yim Soon-rye and based on a manga series of the same name by Daisuke Igarashi which was first published in 2002.

On Day 2,  audiences will get to watch Run-Off. It’s about an odd group of women, including a North Korean defector, a short track skater and a middle school student, comes together to form South Korea’s first female ice hockey team.

The last film to be showcased will be ‘Secret Reunion’. The story follows Song Kang-ho as Agent Lee Han-gyoo of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) who falls from grace after failing to stop the assassination of a North Korean dissident.
