As the world grapples with climate-related disasters, Kenyans are concerned about soaring food prices, largely instigated by droughts.
Parents and guardians have an obligation to teach their children about environmental conservation. There are many ways to teach kids about taking care of our planet and one easy yet powerful approach is through child-friendly books.
Tech guru and Twitter personality Rebecca Wanjiku just released her anthology of short stories "Tamed by the Trees and other Stories", a children's storybook aimed at raising environmental protection awareness.
The book description on Amazon reads as 'Human actions destroy the environment and often we learn the hard way when disasters like famine or floods happen. Our children can learn how to be a generation that respects and cares for the environment, so that the environment can also care for them'.
The book has beautiful illustrations and simple language and is available for purchase on Amazon. Local purchases can be arranged on request.
