Kenya Film Commission invites all practicing and upcoming filmmakers to submit their original concepts for a pitching competition. The contest will be a side event at the upcoming Kalasha International TV & Film Market 2019 slated for 26-28 March at the KICC in Nairobi.
Filmmakers will be given a chance to pitch to potential investors in the following categories:
* TV Series and Soaps
* Animation (Short of Series)
* Film (Feature Film or Short Film)
* Documentaries
The winning pitch in each category will walk away with Ksh. 500,000 or a production deal of equal amount. The application deadline is 20th March, 2019 by 5pm. Only 24 projects will be selected from the submission pool for a chance to pitch their concept to investors.
Shortlisted projects will be notified on Friday 22nd March 2019. Download the submission form here
The Kalasha International Film & TV market is a three-day trade fair where local and international professionals from the film and audiovisual industry trade content, partnerships, network and share ideas. There will be conferences, workshops, coaching and pitching sessions taking place along the trade show and in the evening, film screenings of Kenyan movies.
One can participate as a non-exhibiting delegate, or an exhibiting delegating delegate by paying USD 350 to secure a booth for 3 days at the fair. Students enter for free but must provide ID proof at the venue. To register as a delegate, click here.
