Ethic Entertainment have signed a record deal with a subsidiary of Universal Music Group; AI Records. Universal acquired a controlling stake in AI Records in March 2018. This gave the American company access to one of the largest collections of East African music.

Ethic have also dropped a new single – ‘Figa’ which is about the beauty of a voluptuous woman. At the release of the song their manager, John Mbugua said, “We are thrilled to join AI Music and look forward to making good music and putting Kenya on the global arena. It’s a great opportunity for us musically as it gives us a leg up in coming up with projects that will leverage our influence and appeal beyond our borders.”

The music group, famed for local hit ‘Lamba Lolo’ also had the opportunity to perform with Nigeria’s Mr Eazi on the Coke Studio platform. Ethic is considered of the most impressive break outs of 2018. The group consists of Boniface Mwangi aka SWAT, Peter Njau (Zila), Thomas Otieno the Rekless and Leroy “Seska” Miwa. They hail from Nairobi’s Umoja Estate in Eastlands.

The group is also famous for the song ‘New Position’ featuring Kansoul and ‘Instagram’.

Ethic joins local music groups on the AI roster; Orchestra Super Mazembe, Afro 70, and Western Jazz.
