From standing up against abuse in school, to performing at huge events and winning awards, 2021 was an eventful year for these Kenyan kids.
Trio Mio
'Cheza Kama Wewe' Hitmaker 17 year old Mario TJ Kasela AKA Trio Mio had an amazing year. His songs received airplay across major radio stations and he got to work with some of the biggest names in the industry. He recently performed at Azimio la Umoja convention and won the 'Breakthrough' artist of the year at Unkut Africa Awards.
Shanah Manjeru
13-year-old Kenyan singer Shanah Manjeru became the youngest ever winner of an AFRIMA award  after taking home the award for the Best African Female Artiste in Inspirational Music.
She emerged top ahead of Ada Ehi, Nigeria's famed gospel musician; Afrie (Uganda); Eden (Cote D'Ivoire); Kamo Mphela (South Africa); Kelly Khumalo (South Africa); Montess (Cameroon); Nata (Sierra Leone); Ruth Asong (Cameroon); and Diana Hamilton (Ghana).  
Moi Girls High School- Eldoret
On Feb 17th, students in Moi Girls High School Eldoret went on strike demanding the removal of the school principal Christine Chumba.
They boycotted classes accusing the principal of harassing them and also mistreating their teachers.  It took the intervention of the Ministry of Education to ameliorate the situation.
