Historical themed telenovelas are not a popular genre of shows on Kenyan television. Fortunately, we been lucky to watch a few of them in the past. For today's throwback feature, we will look back at some of these historical Telenovela.
Pasion
Pasion is a Televisa production from 2007 staring Susana Gonzalez, Ferndando Colunga and Sebastian Rulli. The show follows the story of a young woman called Camila. Camila is captured by pirates and sold to slavery. Her master marries her and leaves his entire fortune to her to spite his daughters.
Camila returns to her home a rich woman, only to find her fiancé, Santiago married to her own sister. Her husband's daughters go after her to take back their fortune with the help of their cousin, Ricardo. Ricardo happens to be the same pirate who once captured Camila. He finds himself drawn to her and wants to protect her. Camila and Ricardo fall passionately in love with each other and will have to overcome the difficulties inherent during this historical period to be together.
Corazon Salvaje
Corazon Salvaje (Wild Heart) is a Televisa production from 2009 staring Eduardo Yanez, Cristian De La Fuente and Aracely Arambula in a double role.
Set in the late 1800s, Corazon Salvaje is about a young man called Juan De Dios. He is out to avenge the death of his parents from the people who harmed them. During this quest, Juan De Dios finds himself entangled in a complicated situation as he falls in love with Aimee and Regina, the twin daughters of his enemy. He hence has to make the difficult choice between love and vengeance.
