Singer-songwriter Nadia Mukami is proving to be a dominant force in the Kenyan entertainment scene. Since her  'Si Rahisi' debut in 2018, the songstress has been featuring on the airwaves with chart topping hits including 'African Lover' and 'Radio Love'.
We had a sit down with Nadia on her new project with Masauti dubbed, 'Lola' and this is what she had to say:
KB: Lola has become a mega hit in such a short time, what prompted this unique collaboration?
Lola was based on my own personal experience infused with Diamond and Zari's scuffle; which is something everyone in showbiz goes through.
KB: How did you get Masauti to be part of this masterpiece?
Masauti and I have known each other since last year when he approached me for a collabo. We had a few runs on ideas until 'Lola' came about.
KB: The video has since garnered over 350,000 YouTube views in a week, what's your general feel on that?
I appreciate the great marketing and reception. My content providers advised that the song needed to be anticipated and therefore a massive three-week marketing campaign was necessary. I remember my PA calling me saying 'Lola' had acquired 1000 views in 10 minutes.
KB: What inspired the luxurious 'Lola' video concept?
The idea of 'Lola' was about two celebrities who hustled together but one of the lovers ended up cheating. You can't quite portray broke celebrities so the theme was about getting the storyline popping.
KB: On the same day,  Sauti Sol and Otile Brown also dropped new music. Was it a coincidence?
Actually, it was coincidence! Because when I was planning on a release date, I chose a day that would be less crowded, but then boom, Sauti Sol released their song, followed by me. An hour later it was Otile. I must admit it was healthy competition because we all trended across platforms.
KB: Any new projects we should expect next?
Yes! I'll be going to Tanzania on a media tour and a number of budding collabos. I'm also starting a company very soon; I really want to focus on the music business.
KB: What would you like to tell your fans?
I wouldn't be here if not for the love and support from my fans. I hope they keep supporting and I promise to release hits after hits.
