Finally! The live-action "Justice League" movie every comic book fan has been begging for has landed in cinemas across the world. The movie which brings together DC Comics' all-star superhero cast featuring Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, the Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg proves to be a relentlessly entertaining joyride that wipes out the bad taste of 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice". And how could it not be when Joss Whedon, the writer/director of Marvel's mega-successful superhero movie "Avengers", helped write the screenplay.

Picking up from the events of "Dawn of Justice", a post-Superman world is in need of new heroes to fight bigger threats. Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck) gives himself the responsibility as he recruits, one-by-one, the four individuals with special abilities that he found on Lex Luthor's secret files. The film delves into their backstory's as we get an in-depth familiarity with each one of them and their capabilities; Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Barry Allen/Flash (Ezra Miller), Arthur Curry/Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

The newly formed superhero clique is on a mission to take down Steppenwolf, an alien military officer who commands an army of Parademons threatening Earth's existence. The predictability of some stretches of the movie may set some critics off but, contrary to what the 'mighty lot' may think, Justice League is by far the best superhero team-up movie I have seen this year. And yes, I have seen "Thor: Ragnarok", "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and "Logan".

Gadot's Amazonian princess character, Wonder Woman - who has already once stolen cinema audience's favor with her own incredible stand-alone movie this year - comes out as the star of the show. Her colossal strength matched with her wits had me silently chanting "girl power!". I have to applaud the subversive feminism that Zack Snyder blends into the film.
Snyder's signature epic slow-mo shots, the awesome graphic and sound effects are just too beautiful when experienced on big screen. This is a movie that everyone, even the little ones, will enjoy.
