Nairobi Horns Project (NHP) joins Kenyan music greats in history who have performed at the Standard Bank of Joy Festival in Johannesburg. Valerie Kimani was the first Kenyan to play on the stage in 2001 and 10 years later in 2011, Eric Wainaina entertained audiences on the same stage.
Nairobi Horns Project debut at the festival follows successful on stage performances at Safaricom Jazz Festival -where they opened for Hugh Masekela, a well received debut album dubbed Kipepeo and their upcoming Modern Classics Project where they plan to do jazz covers of Kenyan classics in the pop, genge and kapuka genres and a double album set for release before the end of 2018. Members of NHP have also been part of Coke Studio Africa, The Nile Project and Sauti Sol African Tour.
