Filipina actress Jodi Sta. Maria has won the Best Actress in a Leading role at the Asian Acaemy Creative Awards 2022. This makes her the first actor from The Philippines to get the award.
She won the award for her role in the Philippine adaptation of British Series, Doctor Foster. The adaptation was titled "The Broken Marriage Vow" with Jodi Sta. Maria playing the role of Dr. Jill Ilustre, whose happy marriage ends with the discovery of her husband's affair.

Jodi Sta. Maria was able to beat India's Sakshi Tanwar, Singapore's Rebecaa Lim, South Korea's Kim Hyesoo and Taiwans' Cheryl Yang to bag the award. "I would always say 'It takes a village to produce a wonderful series...' I'm just lost for words," said the actress in her acceptance speech. "This is the highlight of my year."
The Broken Marriage Vow also won five other awards including Best Adaptation of an existing Format, Best theme song by Morissette, Best Trailer and Best Supporting Actor for Zaijian Jaranilla.
