Nicolas Cage stars alongside  Alain Moussi, Frank Grillo, JuJu Chan and Tony Jaa in this martial arts fantasy action film. Based on a 2017 comic book of the same name, Jiu Jitsu is yet another 'aliens-invading-earth' movie and it's up to exceptional Americans to save the rest of us.
We are used to seeing aliens arrive in sophisticated space ships and attack our planet with laser beams or some heinous virus….wait, is 2020 an alien invasi….never mind.
Anyway, the extraterrestrial beings in the Jiu Jitsu movie take a different approach.  Every 6 years, these martial arts experts invade our planet and it's the noble job of exceptional warriors to save us.
From all the trailers I've watched online, it seems the film is endlessly violent, with a flimsy plot and uninspired characters who just want to kick behinds and not read from a script.
You can tell they skimped on the visual effects. Doesn't look like a 2020 movie. Hollywood Reporter described Jiu Jitsu as "a movie made for young men whose parents or girlfriends have insisted they put down their gaming consoles for one goddamn night or it's over". Haha!
If you like playing combat video games or you're currently taking Jiu Jitsu, here's a treat for you. Film connoisseurs, just go with an open mind. Hey, you get to see Nicolas Cage.
