Forbes Magazine has released the 2018 report on world's highest paid authors, and James Patterson, U.S. bestselling author, tops the list.
The high-classified magazine estimates that in 2018, James Patterson dredged $86 million in royalties. Coming in a distant second is the genius behind the wizardry world in Harry Potter, J.K Rowling.
Earlier this year, James Patterson co-authored 'The President is Missing' with former US President Bill Clinton, a book that stirred up lofty talk. What's more, Showtime, the network behind hit shows like Shameless, Billions, and Homeland picked up the TV rights to the book before it was even published. 'The President is Missing' unravels shock and immersive suspense after a sitting president disappears.
In the Forbes rankings, Michael Wolff made his debut appearance thanks to his book 'Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House', a book that disparages Trump's presidency. Wolff made it to position 7.
James Patterson's latest title 'The First Lady' follows an unfaithful President whose sexual escapades surface, creating a threatening hump to his presidency. To land on both feet, he needs the first lady to stand by him, but what happens when she has plans of her own and goes 'rogue'?
