KB: You've been in the 254 a couple of times now, tell us why and what's planned for this trip?
Well, the first time was for Coke Studio. Later on I came to promote both my songs 'Yolo Yolo' and 'Weekend Vibes' with Sarkodie which did exceptionally well here!
Now, I'm back to promote my new single, 'Koma Roll' with Harmonize.
KB: What's the meaning behind 'Koma Roll' and how did you and Harmonize hook up for this masterpiece?
'Koma Roll' means 'Let it roll' in Yoruba, now in my context, 'Let the booty roll'. I was in Atlanta last year, recording at Young Jeezy's studio for my next EP when I got a call while already back in Nigeria from an engineer at Jeezy's studio. He told me that Tanzanian artist, Harmonize was also recording there and I had an epiphany to have him on as a feature since the song has a Bongo, high-life sound and he obliged!
KB: Who directed 'Koma Roll' and what was inspired the video concept?
Mr. C directed it. We didn't actually put much thought with how we wanted it to look like but knew it had to be a party vibe because of the energy in the song. So we literally crashed one Bankesh's beach party, got the cameras and they let us shoot anyway.
KB: You've done projects with formidable artists in the continent, anyone you're planning on working with in Kenya?
I'll actually be working with Sauti Sol on a new project because that's something I've wanted to do in a really long time. In fact, they were to feature in 'Yolo Yolo' but missed on that one. I think everything work for the best and believe this one will be a smash.
KB: You headlined the Blankets & Wine, Kampala Edition in 2017. Will you be performing in any other East African city soon?
My PR team is working very hard towards making that happen and I feel like part of the family out here. Hopefully, thanks to my renowned songs, it will make people want to see more of me in live in concert.
KB: Last word to your Kenyan fans?
I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me famous! You guys first believed in me and possess an extra ordinary power, including the media who've been pushing my music.
