‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ Review: The Cosmic Crash

Ice Age: Collision Course

Manny the Mammoth (Ray Romano) is getting freaked out by a lot of stuff. First, his daughter Peaches (Keke Palmer) is getting hitched! Meaning, she’s going to leave him forever. Second, earth is getting hit by a meteorite and the world is ending. Meaning, his daughter’s literally going to leave him forever!

Meanwhile, Peaches is completely in love with her fiancé.

Ice Age: Collision Course is your typical animation adventure movie, but now with a twist of sci-fi. Scrat the Squirrel (Chris Wedge) catapults himself into the universe in his endless pursuit of an acorn. Unknown to him, he sets off a whirlwind of cosmic events that could possibly end the Ice Age world.

Manny, Diego the Tiger (Denis Leary) and Sid the Sloth (John Leguizamo) on learning that they could end up getting extinct, set on a long scary and yet colourful journey to save the world.

Ice Age: Collision Course

As with all preludes in the Ice Age series, this movie is filled with funny anecdotes that will leave you in good spirits. The humor is light and the scenes engaging.

Ice Age movies have a certain sweetness about them. That’s probably why they’re the perfect family movie-date. Given the film’s track record, Ice Age: Collision Course did a brilliant job at reminding its fans why they’re so loyal to the brand to begin with.

I rate it a 4 out of 5.
