- These essays normally have at least one paragraph or section which dedicated to explaining the story, so that people who are reading the essay can familiarise themselves with the basic plot before they get into the essay proper - this helps to explain a little about how the characters fit into the story
- Each character, or each character trait if there are multiple characters, has its own paragraph if the essay is a normal length, or section if the essay is longer than normal. This allows for each trait or character to be discussed separately and thoroughly, so that there is no confusion around what is being discussed, and so that the reader can see what the writer intends by their focus. This is where the main bulk of the research, and the point of the essay in general, can be found
- The introduction and the conclusion are each integral to the essay, as they introduce the research, set out what will be found within the essay, and give some additional information.
