"A son, a brother, a best friend, a colleague, a confidante, eSports evangelist and an unapologetic Superman groupie". This is how Brian Barasa's closest friends eulogized him when they learnt of his passing on 19th July 2021.
If you're a fan of gaming, animation, comic books, movies, cosplay, vlogging and technology, then you must be familiar with East Africa's First Comic Convention and the official home of geeks and nerds since 2014- NAICCON. Barasa was one of the co-founders of NAICCON and was a champion of geek culture in Kenya. He loved cosplay, gaming and comic books and this year, Naiccon has introduced the Barasa Awards to honour their friend.

Comic book enthusiasts who'd like to show their budding skills in writing and illustrating are invited to submit their work to NAICCON before December 2021 for a chance at winning the Barasa Award worth Ksh 10,000.
Categories are: Best Artist, Best Writer and, Best Original Story.  Make Brian proud and give it your best!
