Hongera! Qazini Founder Damaris Agweyu Selected for the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s 2021 Entrepreneurship Program
The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), Africa’s leading foundation dedicated to empowering entrepreneurs on the continent has selected 4,949 entrepreneurs from across Africa for its 2021 Entrepreneurship Programme.
Since its inception, the Tony Elumelu Foundation has funded a total of 15,847 entrepreneurs who have created more than 400,000 direct and indirect jobs and counting. Through TEFConnect, the Foundation’s proprietary digital platform, it has provided capacity-building support, advisory and market linkages, to over 1.5 million Africans.
This year’s intervention prioritises the economic recovery of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) and young African entrepreneurs, following the Covid-19 disruption to economic activities.
Among the 4,949 Africans, our founder, @DAgweyu, has been selected for the Tony Elumelu Foundation’s 2021 Entrepreneurship Program in the Innovation category. Read to learn more: https://t.co/yQIAXLJpsd#EmbracePossibility

Qazini, an online media platform based in Kenya, was one of this year’s beneficiaries in the innovation category. Founded by Damaris Agweyu in 2018, Qazini seeks to transform the African narrative by creating and publishing content that aims to drive systemic change in societies through empowering storytelling from and about the African continent.
Damaris is a business maverick (including former Managing Director of KenyaBuzz), actress and fashion model and we can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award. Hongera!
