Day 1234567890 under lock down. Juggling work and taking care of the kids is/has probably burnt you out huh? If for whatever reason you let your nanny go at the beginning of this pandemic or you never had one to begin with and you could really use a helping hand around the house, it's probably a good time to hire a live-in nanny.
Why a live-in nanny? Well, if you have enough space to accommodate one more person in the house, this is your best bet to avoid your nanny getting exposed outside a controlled environment  and possibly infecting the rest of the family.
So, how do you hire a nanny amid a pandemic? These are surreal times we live in. Who would've thought we would require potential domestic managers to undergo a compulsory COVID-19 test before hiring them?
Yup, don't get too excited for your new hire before having them tested with their consent. You'll have to cover the costs. Look out for FREE testing in various neighbourhoods from time to time.
Before you test your potential nanny, you should have a talk with them about whether they are willing to move in without leaving for whatever period of time you deem necessary to feel safe (or even an indefinite period of time) and what the 'rules' of the house will be about going out. Remember, by law, they are entitled to at least one day off a week. You'll have to find a way to make that work even under quarantine.
