Irene, Diego's aunt has been getting along well with Diego's friend, Alonso. She has always had problems with her father after he took away her daughter and she turned to alcohol to get over her grief.  Irene however wanted to overcome her alcoholism and hence sort the help of Alonso, who is a psychiatrist.Alonso was delighted to help Irene stop drinking and things worked out well in the beginning. Irene heavily depended on him and the two of them ended up becoming close friends. Alonso's feelings however got in the way and he could no longer treat Irene like any other patient. He suggested that she find another doctor and the two of them remain as friends.In the end, Alonso ended up confessing his feelings for Irene. She had started seeing her ex, Tedeo, again and Alonso was afraid that he would lose her to him. He told Irene that he had always loved her but Irene did not take it well. She was apprehensive because Alonso was Diego's friend and he is younger that she is.Alonso hopes that Irene will disregard the obstacles around them and give him a chance.
