Happily Never After: 4 Telenovela Celebrity Marriages That Ended in Divorce
Outside of the glamorous, love-soaked TV lives, our favourite soap stars are real world people with real world issues, just like the rest of us. These are the telenovela celebrity couples who unfortunately didn’t get their happily ever after.
1. Mario Cimarro and Vanessa Villela
Mario Cimarro is among the most recognisable telenovela actors with acting credits in shows like La Mujer de mi Vida, Curse by the Sea and Forbidden Passions. Vanessa Villela often plays the antagonist in Telemundo shows such as Maid in Manhattan. They shared screen time in El Cuerpo Del Deseo where Mario played Salvador/Don Pedro and Vanessa played his daughter Angela. They got married in 2009 but divorced a year later.
2. Mayrin Villanueva and Jorge Poza
Mayrin Villanueva played the role of Vanessa in Mujeres de Negro while Jorge Poza played the fun-loving Doctor Jose Maria in Rafaela. He also had an appearance in La Gata as Mariano. The two got married in 1997 but got divorced in 2008. They have two children together; twins Sebastian and Romina.
3. Jorge Luis Pila and Anette Michel
Jorge Luis Pila is a leading man in Telemundo telenovelas such as La Patrona and Where Is Elisa, while Anette Michel’s notable credits include Cuando Seas Mia where she played Barbara, and Pasion Morena. The couple met on set in 1997 and got married in 2001. They however got divorced a few months later after cheating allegations against Luis Pila were filed by Anette.
4. Ximena Herrera and Alex Sirvent
Ximena Herrera played Katia in Mujeres de Negro while Alex Sirvent appeared on Amor Bravio as Rafael and La Sombra Del Pasado as Emanuel. The two got married in 2010 but got divorced in 2013.
