In Haathi Mere Saathi (translation: Elephants are my friends) Veerabarathi aka Kaadan, is referred to as the Forest Man of India (modelled after the real-life environmental activist Jadav Payeng). He is determined to save a forest from corporate greed. A rich businessman has somehow managed to unscrupulously get the title deed of the forest and wants to turn it into a modern shopping complex.

From the trailer, we see how beautiful and pristine the forest is and how Veerabarathi is one with the flora & fauna (especially the elephants). He vows to team up with people (and animals) of goodwill to save the forest but this puts him and his family in imminent danger. His wife asks him to choose between the forest and his young family.
