H_Art The Band Kicks Off ‘Made in the Streets’ Album Tour in Kayole
H_art the Band paid homage to Kayole residents with a one of a kind concert, as they began their countrywide Made in The Streets album tour, at Kayole Imara Primary School.
Exuberant fans from Nairobi were treated to a host of performances from Bensoul, DJ Shiti, Katelo, Kaskazini and Hype man Gudahman among others. Kayole served as the band’s first stop for their maiden album, as this is where their musical careers began, six years ago. “Made in the Streets” was inspired by the memory of how they met, when the trio was trying to forge a path in the arts industry. The album was officially released on 26th July 2019.
“Kayole is a special place for us. This is why we decided before going to various counties, it is only proper to come back home and say thank you. This is even why we decided the event will be free for all. We are truly grateful to Kayole people and our fans in general,” said lead singer, Mordecai.
The day also belonged to upcoming artists who were given an opportunity to showcase their talent. Various acts from poetry, singers and rappers to dancers graced the stage.
“We were given an opportunity to perform, even if we never earned much as we would have wanted. That is why today it was also important to give some of these young people an opportunity, each one teach one,” remarked Kenchez.
