If you ask any kid who has read the Goosebumps series about their experience, they'll probably turn wide-faced and chatter on and on about how the scary and witty plots threw them irredeemably into the books.
The horror comedy books by R.L. Stine were first adopted to film in 2015 by director Rob Letterman (Shark Tale), and this October a sequel, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, will screen. You want to miss everything else but this!
Two young boys- the main protagonists, look forward to making your time at the cinema worth it. The two adventurous kids accidentally release Slappy the Dummy- a horid villain, cunning even, who compels the person(s) who released him to serve him as slaves. He weaves tricks, including framing people for things he has done. The protagonists' accidental act also sets free other Goosebump monsters who craft a funereal environment in their town during Halloween night.
Directed by Ari Sandel and written by Rob Lieber, this thriller-chiller adds a filler to the entertainment gap you badly wanted filled in 2018.
It opens in Kenyan cinemas this weekend and you can buy tickets from KenyaBuzz, here.
