The Golden Globe Awards are awarded to celebrate excellence in film and television both in the United States and from foreign countries. The 75^th Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place on January 7^th where women were the centre of attention.Sterling K. Brown from the TV series 'This Is Us' was the first African-American to win as a lead actor in a series. Most actresses were also in black as a protest of all the injustices against women that have been taking place in the film industry. The hashtag they were using was #TimesUp lead by actress, producer and director Eva Longoria.Oprah Winfrey was also the first African-American woman to win an award for her contribution to the entertainment industry.
