Kenyans have finally received their plead. Media Personality Tanasha Donna released a banger,''Gere'' featuring her Tanzanian famed beau Diamond Platnumz. The track amassed a whooping 1 million views on Youtube within a 12 hour period since its release. Fans anticipating the personality's project received it well and enabled a wide viewing.
The provocative afro and bongo fusion beat plays out like a back and forth conversation between the couple. The chemistry between the two is pronounced and seeps through the screen as they perform the lyrics passionately. 'Gere' means jealous and the two love birds sing about committing to each other against the backdrop of envious people trying to bring them down. Amid claims of cheating and breaking up, East African celebrity couple Tanasha Donna and Diamond Platnumz have decided to shut down their naysayers.
'Gere' was shot in Dar es Salaam Tanzania By Director Kenny Under Zoom Extra. The music video includes a sexy drive on a retro orange convertible and a scene where the two dance together in a sleek all white setting. In another scene, the singer performs a slow dance number coupled with dancers in the background.
"You better tell them that you are mine, better be my ride or die," Tanasha sings.
"Mama kasema mwali mwana, nimepata nitulie simba," Diamond sings, referring to his mother's advice for him to settle down- promising to do just that with his lover.
Adoring Fans first heard the song during the launch of the belle's latest project, Donatella EP. The Launch took place on January 31st at the Sarit Center in an elegant event graced by renowned East African stars. I'll be first to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the chemistry between the two and Tanasha's come back after receiving backlash for a "poor" performance at her 'DonnaTella' EP launch. Diamond failed to attend the exclusive event. Diamond left Nairobi in a hurry, claiming that he had an urgent family issue to attend to, having just arrived the previous day. This in turn speculated all is not well with the couple, Tanasha then defended her relationship status and explained that there was indeed an emergency, otherwise, her boo would not have shown up in Nairobi in the first place. The release of the track will for sure hush any rumors and gossip about the superstar duo for the moment.
