Gengetone Festival will nearly feature all Kenyan gengetone musicians who will share the stage come D-day. The Gengetone Festival will take place on Friday, April 10, at the Machakos People's Park, in Machakos county Organisers revealed they came up with the idea to give the gengetone artistes the opportunity to prove to Kenyans that the genre is as good as it can get. When Gengetone first emerged, it attracted mixed reactions from different Kenyans. While many people praised the young gengetone artistes for creating a music genre we can all pride in, a cross section of the public condemned the creativity.
Most young musician pushing gengetone had no other content but dirt and obscenity. Well, it is for that particular reason events promoters thought it wise to bring all gengetone musicians together for a major concert dubbed Gengetone Festival.
The festival will not only present gengetone talents but also genge as legendary rapper Juacali is also set to thrill fans. The organisers came up with this idea to give the gengetone artistes the opportunity to prove to Kenyans that the genre is as good as it can get.
Artists such as: Sailors, Ethic, Boondocks Gang, Zzero Sufuri and a host of other known and upcoming gengetone musicians will thrill their fans during the much anticipated concert. The Emcee of the night is none other than Citizen TV's Willis Raburu while gengetone ambassador VDJ Jones will be holding it down on the ones and twos. Also on the list is none other than Milele FM presenter and comedian Kartelo who will play part as the co-emcee and entertainer too. Advance tickets are going for KSh 1,000/= , couple tickets going for 1,500/=  while a group of 5 ticket goes for KSh 4,500/=.
