We all love the subtle "no-makeup makeup". You know, when you have a little foundation on that perfectly matches your skin tone and a nude lip color that can barely be seen. We wear this minimalist look often  (to the office, to meetings, to a date, you name it). Now that we're barely stepping out, our faces are bare most of the time. But with COVID-19 restrictions easing up, it's time to bring on the heat! Go big or go home baby!
Neon Makeup is all the rage now. The Fluorescent face is what's Poppin' now on Instagram and the streets. And if there's anyone who stays on trend it's Make-up guru Dennis Karuri. This eccentric beautypreneur, influencer extraordinaire and grooming authority put out a tutorial on how to pull off the neon look with an emphasis on Eye shadow.
Here's a step-by-step process and a detailed video from Dennis on pulling off the perfect neon Facebeat.

How to Wear Neon Eye Shadow

Bye bye boring nude eye shadow. Kick things up a notch with a serious pop of color.
Step 1: Prime Your Lids
Your eye makeup will only look as flawlessly smooth as that base that's underneath it. So, make sure to start off with an eye primer to help create an even canvas.
Step 2:  Draw on your Neon Glow Shape of Choice
This statement eye looks especially gorgeous when the color is applied in your crease. All you have to do is use a small, pointed eyeliner brush and a super-bright hue of eye shadow. Next,  trace a thin line that extends across the crease and down towards the outer corner of your eye in a triangular cat eye shape. This shape will act as a guide when it's time to add the "light" to your look.
Step 3: Blend your Light
Since neon lights are all about shining bright and fading into a hazy glow the further you get away from the actual bulb, you'll want to use a blending brush to blend the color out.
Step 4: Add Black Shadow
Underneath the color of your glow, apply a black shadow all the way down to the crease line—filling in the entire blank space on the lid. Next, blend that same black shadow directly outside the top of the light shadow.
Step 5: Draw on your Neon Light Bulbs
Using white liquid eyeliner, draw a precise thin line tracing through your glowing shape. Make sure that the blended color surrounds it on all sides for the full vibrant effect.
Step 6: Define your Lashes
No statement eye is complete without some serious lash power. Start by applying a coat of some heavy duty colored mascara of your choice and follow it up with clear voluminous black mascara to finish things off. Now your glowing look is complete!
