Overcoming the Past (Vencer el Pasado) is a 2021 production by Televisa. The show is the third install of Rosy Ocampo's Vencer series starring Angelica Boyer and Sebastian Rulli.The show follows the story of Renata Vidal (Angelique Boyer), a prominent molecular biologist. She is about to marry her longtime boyfriend, Alonzo Cancino but their wedding is cancelled when she is accused of being unfaithful. She also loses her job.Renata is later hired at the Biogenelab, a high-end laboratory where she struggles to succeed in a sexist environment. Here, she meets Carmen , Mariluz and Danna, who all share in the same social struggles. Renata's love life is also awakened by the mysterious Mauro Alvarez (Sebastian Rulli), a new employee at the lab. Mauro's objective at the lab is to avenge his father. The two do not get along but will they be able to resolve their issues and find the connection between them?Angelique Boyer and Sebastian Rulli are joined by Africa Zavala, Erika Buenfil, Horacio Pancheri and Ferdinando Valencia as part of the supporting cast.
