Awakening With You (Despertar Contigo) is the new Novela that replaced Simply Maria on Citizen TV Kenya.The Novela follows the story of Pablo and Maia played by Daniel Arenas and Ela Velden respectively.Pablo is a hardworking man who's profession is a body guard while Maia is a young doctor who is living with her father in Texas. Pablo has a girlfriend; Cindy who he intends on marrying but he breaks off the engagement after she talks badly about his family and profession. Meanwhile, Maia also has a boyfriend; Federico who she breaks up with because he is insensitive and does not take her seriously. Unfortunately, her father likes Federico and wants the two of them to get back together and marry.The two of them meet at a conference in Mexico where Maia accompanies her father while Pablo is there for work guarding one of the guests. Their first encounter brought them at odds with each other because Maia took pictures of Pablo without intending to and without his consent. She just turned around to take a photo and Pablo was in her way.The second encounter was more interesting; Maia was at the beach sun bathing when Pablo threw sand on her while he jogged past her. Maia didn't know that her friend had unhooked her bra and when she got up to confront Pablo, her goodies were hanging. Being the gentleman that Pablo is, he removed his sweaty vest and handed it to her to cover herself leaving his abs exposed for the entire world to see. Maia ran off after she wore it; dying from embarrassment.The third encounter was better because Pablo saved Maia from being harassed by some men in the streets and this finally gave them a chance to stop screaming at each other and have a real conversation over tacos.The show seems worth watching in the first few episodes and we'll definitely follow along to see how the story develops.
