In Search'. A documentary by Beryl Magoko and Juli Katinka Cramer on the 29th of November at the Prestige plaza.
The RundownThe film follows Beryl, a courageous and determined young woman talks about her experiences going through Female Genital Mutilation and the need to undergo reconstructive surgery
The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the director who will be in the house.
Why is this film important for feminism?
16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls.
The campaign runs every year from 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December,
Human Rights Day. It was initiated in 1991 by the first Women's Global Leadership Institute, held by the Center for Women's Global Leadership (CWGL) at Rutgers University.
Since 1991, more than 6,000 organizations from approximately 187 countries have participated in the campaign.

In Search' highlights the challenges and stereotypes surrounding an issue that affects an estimated
200 million girls and women alive today who have undergone some form of FGM.
