What is feminism?
In very basic terms, feminism is the belief in equal rights for everyone.
Is feminism only about women?
No, it's about everybody being equal, regardless of their gender, sexuality, race, abilities, and so on.
If it's not just about women, why is it called 'feminism'?
The earliest forms of the movement, as early as the 15th century, were considered as only women speaking on behalf of their sex and gender.
Why is feminism important and necessary?
Because there are still many differences in the way different people are being treated.
What are some of the topics feminism addresses?
Autonomy over your body, child marriage, male and female circumcision, human trafficking, pay gaps, sexual and gender-based violence and many, many more.
Is feminism against men?
No, not at all. Instead, it's about everybody being equal, regardless of who they are, where they are from and what they believe in.
Can only women be feminists?
No, anybody who believes in equality can be a feminist.
Are all feminists the same?
No, there are many different streams of feminism, but they all believe that equality is important.
Is it true that feminists don't shave?
No. Same may choose not to, because, what you do with your body is up to you. But you can shave and be a feminist.
Are there really double-standards?
Men who have sex a lot are studs; women are sluts. That's an inequality and double-standard, right?
