Telenovela star Erick Elias returns to television on Telemundo's newest novela, Betty in New York. The actor who was previously with Televisa is known for his previous shows such as Storm over Paradise, In the Name of Love and El cuerpo del deseo.After being with Televisa for ten years, Erick Elias transferred to Telemundo to star in their new Telenovela, Betty in New York. The show is a remake of popular Colombian telenovela Yo soy Betty la fea  that Televisa has previously remade as La fea mas Bella. The American series Ugly Betty is also based on the telenovela.  New actress Elyfer Torres stars alongside Erick Elias as the main protagonist.Betty in New York follows the life of Beatriz (Elyfer Torres), an intelligent young woman who is unable to find work due to the prejudices imposed on her because of her looks. She therefore ends up accepting a job below her qualifications at the Armando's (Erick Elias) fashion company. How will Beatriz survive in a world filled with judgement upon appearances to find true love?You can follow Betty in New York on Telemundo Africa starting July 15.
