Diageo Reserve World Class Kenya continued with its mission to shape the nation's drinking experiences by ensuring its brands are at the heart of the action at Nairobi's first ever Cocktail Festival which was held on  1st and 2nd December 2018.

The festival is followed by a Cocktail Week where consumers will get to enjoy cocktail specials, free cocktails with meals and pitcher deals from 3rd to 9th December 2018.

The festival begun with a World Class invite-only secret garden launch on 30th November at J's Bar, Westlands, where consumers got a glimpse of what's to come.

One of Nairobi's largest celebration of the rising cocktail culture, the Nairobi Cocktail festival attendees got to experience world-class mixology coupled with masterclasses, bar tours and pop-up bars.

Since its launch in 2009, Diageo Reserve WORLD CLASS has been instrumental in transforming fine drinking and cocktail culture around the world.

"The world class bars have been cherry-picked because of their shared dedication to delivering wonderful service, excellent drinks and a great experience," said East African Breweries Limited Head of Spirits Annjoy Muhoro.

Diageo Reserve represents the luxury division of Diageo, a multi-award-winning portfolio of fine spirits rich in heritage, craftsmanship and innovation. The World Class area featured several brands under the luxury portfolio; namely Bulleit bourbon, The Singleton, Cîroc, Tanqueray 10, Don Julio, Johnnie Walker and Ketel One. The most talented mixologists came together to exhibit their unique takes on classic cocktail recipes.

From the Tanqueray 'Dill or no Dill' cocktail to the Ketel One 'Paloma' cocktail, the world class bars offered an unparalleled drinking experience for every palate.

In addition, consumers discovered the craftmanship behind each spirit, the family heritage behind the brands and got a chance to make their own cocktail during the masterclasses.

"One of the most important objectives was to ensure that our consumers could learn about how different flavours are blended to create the perfect balance and distinctive style of our classic cocktails," said Kenya's World Class Bartender of the Year 2018 Patrick Mutua.

Guests at the festival witnessed the pinnacle of bartending creations, new trends and the parameters of cocktail making pushed further than ever before during the two-day festival.

"This is one of the biggest cocktail festivals and we are delighted to see more of our World Class bartenders creating unique drink experiences that go beyond 'what's expected' and push signature serves to become the answer to what tasting menus are in the restaurant world" said Ketel One global brand ambassador Paulo Figueiredo.
