Pourquoi stories ("pourquoi" means "why" in French), also known as origin stories are fictional narratives that explain why things are the way they are. They're not usually rooted in empirical truth but they're fun to tell and enrich childrens' imaginations.
Inspired by an inquisitive 6 year old who wanted to know why the sun was still shining on a rainy day,  Lisa Christoffersen authored a children's book titled A Monkey's Wedding continuing the rich tradition of storytelling.
