Actress Lashana Lynch who played Marie Rambeau, Carol Danver's kickass best friend in Captain Marvel, will take over the role of 007 in Bond 25.
She will be a new spy who will take over the famous spy code after Bond was stripped of it in past movies. Reports show that she will be introduced in the next Bond film which still stars Daniel Craig as James Bond. She is set to take over the main spy role after Bond. The film is also said to be Craig's last outing as Bond.

Bond 25 is being directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective) and being written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Killing Eve). The film already has a lot of pedigree as it was also earlier linked to Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire). Walter-Bridge is only the second ever female creative in the franchise after Johanna Harwood who is credited on Dr. No (1963) and From Russia With Love (1964)
Lynch, 31, will be the first female and the first black 007. It has not yet been confirmed who will carry on the franchise as James Bond.
After the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel, Lion King being almost entirely recast with a predominantly black cast, and now a black 007- it's a year of wins.
Bond 25 will be out in theatres in April 2020.
