The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) has been in the process of developing the Nairobi National Park (NNP) Management Plan and is now calling on YOU to lend your voice to the discussion. Here's where to review it and here's where to submit your comments.
So what's this all about and why should you participate?
The draft management plan, developed by the Ministry of Wildlife and Tourism and the Kenya Wildlife Service, lays proposals to transform the Nairobi National Park. The plan proposes several actions to improve the ecology of the park, develop and diversify visitor experience, improve security, and overhaul park management.
The park has come under stress of late. From encroachment by the Southern Bypass, the Standard Gauge Railway, and the Inland Container Depot access road to "Private developers" threatening to annex parts of the park to build hotels.  Yikes!
The park is our national pride and must be protected at all costs. If you wouldn't want your grandkids listening to fables about a park that once existed, this is your chance to preserve this very crucial ecological system for future generations. The deadline for public comments submission is 12th June. Combined comments will be presented to the public on 30th June.
Make sure your voice counts. Tell a friend to tell a friend!
