Nyashinski and Sauti Sol just released a new song, South African rapper Cassper Nyovest is coming to Kenya and 5 African acts have been nominated for the BET Awards 2018. Music is in the air alright. How about we keep that tempo by binging on musical shows? I know, you're planning on watching 'Deadpool 2' this weekend but a good ol' musical show won't hurt either.
  1. Empire (Seasons 1-4)
As we wait for season 5, here's your chance to figure out what the fuss about this show is about. It really blew up a few years ago and it was a mega hit and I guess they did this by having big stars such as Naomi Campbell and Mariah Carey on the show. Yes, Taraji P. Henson can sing really well.
  1. Star (Seasons 1-2)
It didn't quite get hyped as other music series but this is one of the best. The musical drama TV show follows three young talented girls who are trying to make it big in the music industry. They're faced with major storms and the drama never seems to end. Will they finally make it to the top? The music is great and the storyline is gripping.
  1. Glee (Seasons 1-6)
Do you miss this show? Oh wait, did you ever get to watch it? Look for it this weekend on your preferred streaming service and enjoy music like never before. It will bring a lot of nostalgic memories especially of your high school days. It has a lot of high school musical vibes.
  1. Nashville (Seasons 1-6)
This musical drama follows Ryanna, played by Connie Britton, whose stardom as a country singer starts fading. In order for her label to save her dying career, they partner her up with a newcomer, but well know how change brings with it a lot of struggles. For the country music fans, this show will light up your world.
  1. Groove Theory
I bet you had no idea that Kenya also had its own musical drama series. The Groove Theory that starred the likes of Patricia Kihoro and Pascal Tokodi was one of the most interesting shows that I used to follow on K24 TV. The show followed the lives of 5 talented students who faced challenges in trying to make it in the music industry. The humour was refreshing.
