There's something in the air in Luanda, Angola. It's hot, it's heavy and it's strange. People are restless. The air conditioners in the city just start to mysteriously fall from the buildings. They abruptly come loose from their wall fittings and plummet to the ground. Numerous injuries and even fatalities have been reported.
Security guard Matacedo is tasked by his overheating boss to get him a proper air-con machine before the end of the day. His mission leads him to eccentric characters around the city all trying to survive the heat and socio-economic problems bedeviling Luanda.
Air conditioner had its world premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam and has received positive reviews from critics worldwide.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of beautiful cinematography and unfiltered look of Angola.
This film explores mental health, socio-economics and the tenacity of humans living under difficult conditions.
