Africa Nouveau, a two-day art, fashion and music festival by Blankets & Wine, will have a pop-up at the Africa Utopia Festival in London from July 21-22nd.Africa Nouveau brings together artists from around the continent to collaborate with Kenyan artists and provide a Pan-African experience for their audiences. The second edition, which took place in February at the Ngong Racecourse Waterfront, was geared towards promoting the local fashion scene. The theme of the festival was Afrobubblegum which is fun, fierce and fantastical art that is created for the joy of it.The aim of the pop-up is to take the concept of Afrobubblegum to London. The pop-up will feature a live performance by Makadem, a Kenyan designers runway fashion show, and a photo shoot that intends to give the audience a contemporary look at Kenyan traditional culture, history, symbolism and style. There will also be a keynote address by Rafiki filmmaker and the pioneer of Afrobubblegum, Wanuri Kahiu.
