Chaos Walking: The Mystery Behind the Patriarchal Noise

It's every misogynist's fantasy: a world free of women. Just "the boys" walking around with their unfiltered thoughts not having to worry about what women will think. That's life on a distant planet only referred to as the "New World". Inhabited by earth colonists (very Christopher Columbus of them) except, this isn't a utopia. The men on this planet live with "the Noise," an affliction by which all thoughts are broadcast via sound and images, rendering privacy impossible. This sensory overload has caused them immense misery. Their leadership claims all the women colonists — who were immune to the phenomenon were slaughtered by the planet's indigenous species, the "Spackle".The protagonist in this sci-fi thriller Chaos Walking, Todd Hewitt (Tom Holland), has never seen a girl before. That changes when a space ship from a nearby colony crash-lands in the woods and he spots sole survivor Viola (Daisy Ridley).Together, they forge an alliance to uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of women in the "New World" but of course the patriarchy will fight back.
